Obituary

Amelia (Glowka) Olbrys, 92, of Bellingham, died June 22 in the Milford Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Charles Olbrys.
Born in Bellingham on April 30, 1920, the daughter of the late Joseph and Katarzyna (Zieba) Glowka, Mrs. Olbrys had lived for most of her life in Bellingham.
She had spent one year in the Atria Draper Place assisted living in Hopedale and one year at the Milford Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Olbrys had attended the Wilfred Hairdressing Academy in Boston. She had worked for s short while in Boston as a hairdresser, she then established her own hairdressing business on Maple Street in Bellingham.
Amelia and her late husband Charles also established a grocery/package store on Maple Street.
Following retiring from her own business, she worked for eight years at her sister Helen’s leather store on Charles Street in Boston.
She is survived by her son Charles Olbrys and his wife Joan of Bellingham.
She was the mother of the late Joseph Olbrys.
She is also survived by her brothers, William Glowka of Ohio, Victor Glowka of Bellingham and her sister Christine Garnett of Florida.
She was the sister of the late Edward Glowka, Josephine Whalen and Helen Bourgeois.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lisa Zajac and her husband Richard, Laura Renaud and her husband Richard, Mark Olbrys and his wife Maria, Michael Olbrys and his wife Debbie, her great-grandchildren, Jessica(Renaud) Mandille, Ricky Renaud, Matthew and Alexis Zajac, Jameson, Maya and Alyssa and Isabella Olbrys.
She is also survived by her great-great-granddaughter Abbigail Mandille.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday July 3 from the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway at 9:15 followed by a funeral Mass in St. Brendan’s Church at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery, Medway.
Calling hours will be on Monday July 2 from 5-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
