Cynthia G. "Cindy" (Mistretta) Maher, age 43, died unexpectedly, Friday June 8, 2012. Cindy, as she was known, was the devoted daughter of Sandra Toomey of Lexington and Ron Miriello of North Carolina.

Cindy was born and raised in Woburn. Cindy had an extended and loving family growing up, with many cousins all around the same age. She often talked about all the Sunday dinners she had at Nana's and Pa’s. She attended Woburn public schools and graduated in 1986 from Woburn High School. After high school Cindy went to the Burdett Business School of Boston and soon after, she started working at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington. After 22 years she became an Administrative Supervisor in the pulmonary department. She worked hard, was well liked, and made many lasting friendships.

Cindy was an avid sports fan, watching games with family and friends. She was a cheerleader coach for many years for the Woburn football program, as well as coaching Woburn youth lacrosse.

In 1987, Cindy and Tommy Maher were married and settled in Woburn. They raised two wonderful children together, Christopher and Kylee. Some of her favorite times were with her family, on weekends, in Acton, Maine, on Mousam Lake. There in Maine she and her family made many lasting memories with a great group of friends at the cottage. Cindy was a great mum and will be dearly missed by many, especially her husband and children.

Cindy was the beloved wife of Thomas W. Maher. Devoted mother of Christopher J. Maher and Kylee J. Maher, both of Woburn.
