Brockton – Helen (Benton) Perry 94, died Sunday April 22 after a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph H. Perry.
Born and raised in Brockton she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Emma (Rounds) Benton and had attended Brockton schools.
Helen had been a resident of Whitman for over 35 years and had worked many years in the shoe industry at the former Montello Heal and P&S Leather both of Brockton.
Helen had always enjoyed baking and happily shared her “treats” with family.
She is survived by her loving daughter Nancy (Birnie) Leonard of Whitman and her beloved grandchildren Michael Leonard and his wife Rebecca of Wayland, Lawrence Leonard of Whitman, and Francine Burns and her husband William of Randolph. She is also survived by Matthew Murphy of Plymouth and her six great grandchildren Hunter, Mallory, and Bryn Leonard and Madison, Ronan and Megan Burns, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late Laurie Murphy and sister of the late Ralph Benton, Jr., Elsie Copeland, Barbara Packard and Margaret Brown.
Her funeral service will be held Friday April 27 at 11 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours will be held Thursday April 26 from 6-8 PM
