Warren C.Dole, of Northborough formerly of Brockton, died Tuesday April 17, 2012 at the Kindred Transitional Care and Rehab in Marlborough. He was the beloved husband of Mary E. (Cahoon) Dole, and son of the late Chester C. and Olive F. (Chapman) Dole. Mr. Dole graduated from Brockton High School and attended Franklin Institute where he took courses on Basic Electricity and Wofford College, Spartansburg, SC, where he majored in Mathematics. He served in World War II in the US Air Force as a Bombardier on B 17’s. Warren was employed by Westinghouse Electric Supply Company for 43 years, retiring in 1978 as an Administrative Manager.
He was a member of various Masonic Organizations including Baalis Sanford Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Brockton, Shedad Grotto-M.O.V.P.E.R. in Brockton, The New England Grotto Association, Scottish Rite Bodies Valley of Boston-Boston Lafayette Lodge of Perfection, 32nd Degree, Noble of the Mystic Shrine-Aleppo Temple, Aleppo Temple “$100 Million Dollar Club”, Gaspee Order #99 Sword of Bunker Hill, Worcester Country Shrine Club, Acacia Club of Northborough where he served as treasurer for many years and the Reserved Officers’ Association of the United States Officers’ Club-Hanscom Air Force Base. Warren was also a member of Porter Congregational Church, now Christ Church, Brockton. He was a member of Tower Hill Botanic Gardens in Boylston, American Legion & American Military Society of Washington, DC and the Greendale Retired Men’s Club of Worcester. He was a charter member of the World War II Museum in New Orleans and also a member of the 1893 Club at New England Baptist Hospital, the Rose Society and served on the Board of Visitors as an Ambassador to the hospital. Warren was a member of the Nickerson Family Association, Inc. of Chatham, since his grandmother was a Nickerson.
He enjoyed traveling and spent many years in Woodstock, VT at the Woodstock Inn at Christmas and many years in Chatham. He and his wife, Mary, traveled extensively in the USA, Hawaii, Alaska, Europe, the Caribbean, especially Aruba, Australia and New Zealand which was their favorite trip.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 23, 2012 in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, from 11:00-11:45am, followed by his burial with military honors at noon in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
