LAWRENCE – Maureen A. O’Rourke, 77 of Lawrence, MA, passed away peacefully Thursday March 22, 2012 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Sanford, Maine, the daughter of John and Catherine (Kilcoyne) Nichols educated in Lawrence, MA and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School. Maureen worked at Messina’s Market, was a receptionist for N.E. Neurological and most recently was the receptionist at St. Michael’s Church in North Andover, MA.
She was active at St. Patrick’s Church in Lawrence, MA; she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren, the family cottage at the lake and going to the beach. Maureen was an avid reader and loved animals.
The widow of James M. O’Rourke, she is survived by her sons, James P. of Lawrence, MA, John T. and his wife Deborah of Salem, NH, Michael P. and his wife Kara of Derry, NH and Timothy J. and his wife Cathy of Danville, NH.
Grandchildren, Jonathan, Tawna, Christopher, Allison, Timothy, Jr. and Ryan and Jessica.
Maureen was the mother of the late Kevin M. O’Rourke.

Pollard Funeral Home, Inc., 233 Lawrence Street Methuen, MA 01844. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 12 noon in St, Michael’s Church in North Andover, MA with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence, MA.
