Obituary

James Franklin Russ, 78, of Clarksville, TN, died on Friday, March 2, 2012 at Gateway Medical Center. He was born on January 1, 1934 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to the late Lawerence James Russ and Mayme Fitzgerald. He was also preceded in death by a brother, John.
Mass will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at 10 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Chapel with Father Charles Mathew OFM officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 7, 2012 from 4-7 PM with a rosary service to follow at 7 PM with Deacon Dominick Azzara officiating and Thursday, March 8, 2012 from 9 AM until the hour of service at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home.
James F. Russ is truly one of the good guys. He proudly served in the US Army for 23 years and the National Security Agency for 20 years. His time with the US Army and NSA was served in US Embassy's around the world. Showing his family the world. He was also a 3rd Degree Knight of Bowie, Maryland. He loved his family, country, and church. His home was his fortress and his wife was his anchor. We will miss him greatly.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 55 years, Paula Ann Clark Russ; three daughters, Mary Gail Russ, Theresa Russ of Boston, MA, and Denise Johnson of Clarksville, TN; and ten grandchildren, Corey and Urias Mends-Cole, Brenda Smyth, Kevin and Emily Smyth, Brendan Johnson, Erin Johnson, James Smyth, Colin Johnson, Patrick Johnson, Moira Johnson, and Emma Johnson.
