Louis P. Carbone

Mr. Louis P. Carbone, age 90, a lifelong Medford resident passed away suddenly on February 23rd at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital of Medford. He was the beloved husband of Marie A. (Porriello) and together they shared 65 years of marriage. Born in Medford he was the son of the late Lorenzo and Angelina (Sica) Carbone.

Mr. Carbone was a retired mechanic and fabricator. He worked for many years together with his family at the former Carbone Bros. Texaco, which was located on Main St. in South Medford, and also for many years with the Carbone Sheet Metal Co. of Chelsea. He was a talented craftsman and enjoyed fine woodworking, over the years making toys and furniture for family for family and friends. He was a true "Mr. Fix it" and was always willing to help friends and family with any building project or automotive problem that came their way.

Mr. Carbone was a proud United States Army Veteran of WWII. He honorably served from 1942 to 1945 with the Medical Detachment of the 44th Armored Regiment in Rhineland, the Ardennes and Central Europe.

His greatest joy came from his family. He cherished spending time with his children and especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed boating and fishing together with his family. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his beloved wife, He is survived by his children; Louis Carbone Jr. and his wife Geraldine, Patricia Quinlan and her husband Richard all of Medford, Saverio Carbone and his wife Donna of Florida, Phil Carbone and his wife Nance of North Reading. He was the loving grandfather of Dawn Marie, Angelina, Sue, James, Sammy, Tracy, Michael, Nicholas and the late Louis. He was the loving great grandfather of Ryan, Kayla, Eden, Amelia, Jonathan and Lola. He is also survived by his sister, Natalie Napoli of Medford. He is predeceased by his sisters, Mary Zarella, Florence Carbone and Assunta Carbone, brothers, Angelo, Peter, Larry and Pietro Carbone.

Funeral services will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Tuesday, February 28th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Dello Russo Funeral Home will be held Monday from 4 thru 8 p.m. Services will conclude with military honors and burial at the MA National Cemetery, Bourne, at 1:30 PM.
