Obituary

Nicholas Haddad of West Roxbury died Thursday February 23, 2012 at age 96 from complications resulting from a fall.
Born in Torrington, CT in 1915, he moved to Boston’s South Cove neighborhood with his family in 1921. He graduated from Boston English High School and attended Suffolk School of Law but left before graduating to help support his family following the death of his father. He married his childhood sweetheart, Evelyn Haddad, in June, 1941, with whom he shared his life until her death in 2009. After serving his country in WW II Nick worked in a small upholstery shop for much of his adult life. He became a union leader, representing fellow workers at regional and national meetings. He was a life-long member and supporter of Boston’s Our Lady of the Annunciation Melkite Cathedral.
Son of the late Fouad and Frieda Haddad, he is survived by his sons Nicholas Jr. of Watertown, MA and Edmund of Manchester, NH, grandchildren Corey Haddad, Amanda Haddad, and Julie Haddad, daughter-in-law Susan Flint, brother Albert, and loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and other members of his extended family. He was predeceased by his sister Elizabeth and brothers George, Mitchell, and Fred.
Nick's Funeral Service was held February 27, 2012 at Our Lady of the Annunciation Melkite Cathedral, 7 VFW Parkway, West Roxbury, MA 02132.

Nick was reunited with his beloved Evelyn as he was laid to rest on a sun-splashed hillside at Mt. Benedict Cemetery in West Roxbury.
