He was born in Worcester, the son of Sisinio and Gemma Pandiani, the youngest of eight brothers and sisters, all of whom were named after Italian operas. Fred married his high school sweetheart and was a devoted husband to his late wife, Shirley. Mr. Pandiani spent his whole life working at National Glass Works on Park Avenue in Worcester; a business founded by his father in 1921. As the owner and president of National Glass Works he developed a reputation in the Worcester community for service to his customers and loyalty to his staff. His son, Barry and nephew, Alan now continue the tradition established by Fred, his two brothers, Bruno and Orlando and their father, Sisinio.

Fred was an active Rotarian and a member of Bay State Savings Bank, Board of Directors. Mr. Pandiani was a World War II Marine Corps veteran, serving in the Pacific Theatre.
