Michael J. Pina, Jr., 20, of New Bedford died December 5, 2011 at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Born in New Bedford, the son of Alisha I. Pendleton and Michael J. Pina, both of New Bedford, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
He was known for his vibrant personality and infectious smile. Michael was an organ donor and his family was proud that it was his decision.
Survivors include his parents; a daughter, Mariah Arruda of Fairhaven; 2 brothers, Damani Gomes and Jonathan Tavares, both of New bedford; 2 sisters, Nyjah Eastman and Zahria Eastman, both of New Bedford; his maternal grandparents, Carol Pendleton of New Bedford and Donald Pendleton of Chicago; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was the brother of the late Jordyn Pina and the grandson of the late Eugene and Clara Pina.
His Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 10th at 10 AM at the Christian Fellowship Center, 822 Church St., New Bedford. Visiting hours Friday from 4-8 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford.
