Rose (Medeiros) Manchester, 90, of Little Compton passed away Friday, November 18, 2011 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Fall River, she was daughter of the late Lawrence and Victoria (Pinkos) Medeiros. Rose was a life-long resident of Little Compton, where she and her loving husband William reared their family of ten children, nineteen grandchildren, thirty three great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Mrs. Manchester was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Little Compton, where she served as president for 10 years and never missed a meeting.
She is survived by her loving husband: William “Sonny” Manchester; daughters: Ann Brooks, Helen Tarter, Rosemary Johnson, Dorothy Manchester, Constance Bonenfant, Susan Reis and Debra Alvernes; sons: William Manchester and Thomas Manchester; sister: Helen Pereira; and brother: Lawrence Medeiros.
She is predeceased in death by her beloved son Paul Manchester and brothers Louis and Charles Medeiros.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Potter Funeral Home.
Calling hours Monday, 4 – 7 P.M.
Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Main Rd., Tiverton.
