TEWKSBURY - Dorothy C. (Huntley - Stewart) Pereshluha, age 89, died peacefully on Thursday morning, October 27, at Woodbrier of Wilmington, after a long period of declining health. She was the wife of the late John F. Stewart, and after his death, was married to the late Alexander Pereshluha.
She was born in Sherman, Maine, January 24, 1922, the daughter of the late Richard and Ella (Bryant) Huntley. She moved to the Boston area at age 18, and settled in Allston and Brighton. She moved to Tewksbury in 1985, and was most recently a resident of Emerald Court in Tewksbury.
In her earlier years, she worked as a clerk at Bloomingdales in Chestnut Hill.
She was a communicant of St. William's Church in Tewksbury, and was active in the Tewksbury Golden Age Club and frequently visited the Tewksbury Senior Center.
She is survived by three children, Janet Montello and her husband Martin of Billerica, Diane Todd and her husband Michael of Tewksbury, Edwin Stewart of Waltham; a brother, John Huntley of Sherman, ME; three grandchildren, Janet Marie Lamothe of Billerica, Joseph Montello of Syracuse, NY, Michael Montello of Amesbury; three great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Alexandria, Joseph; five stepchildren, Linda Auld of Natick, Darlene Leeber of Virginia Beach, VA, Peter Peresh of Fort Worth, TX, Richard Peresh of Bedford, TX, and Diane Shaffer of Billerica; many loving step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was also mother of the late John Stewart Jr., Dorothy DeNapoli; and sister of the late Carlton Huntley and Erwin Huntley.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, October 29, in St. William's Church, Tewksbury. Burial was in Tewksbury Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Association, Massachusetts Chapter, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472, will be appreciated.
