Margaret E. “Betty” (Huntington) Laquidara 72, a Franklin resident since 1963, a devout Christian, was called home to God on Sunday September 25, 2011. She was the wife of William “Bill” Laquidara for 54 years.
Born in Lewiston, Maine August 13, 1939 a daughter of the late Andrew L. and Daisy (Denbow) Huntington, she was raised in Maine and moved to Boston when she was 13. She is a graduate of the former Dorchester High School.
She is the retired owner of the former “Ballet Slipper “ and Simply Skating Shops which were located in Franklin and Bellingham.
Betty’s passion through this life has been guiding and helping the young. From Bible school at the Roxbury Presbyterian Church, leader of Brownie troops in Franklin, to dancers and gymnasts at the McKeon School of Dance. She also loved flowers and crafting.
Margaret’s family would like to thank the staff at Milford Care and Rehabilitation Center for the excellent and compassionate care they extended to her for the past 3 ½ years.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are 3 daughters; Debra A. Ricciardi of Bellingham, Diane Marie Vilches of Florida, and Donna Jean Masters of Franklin, a brother Leonard Andrew Huntington and a sister Virginia Burgess both of Maine. Also surviving are her 7 grandchildren Alysha, Tyler, Brittney, Gabrielle, Lindsey, Maia.
She is the grandmother of the late Ethan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Friday Sept. 30th at 11AM in the Franklin Federated Church 171 Main St. Franklin. Interment will follow in Union Street Cemetery.
Calling hours at the church will be Friday morning from 9-11AM.
