Ralph S. Jacobs, age 87, of Norton, passed away in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, September 4, 2026. He was the beloved husband and best friend of the late Cynthia J. (Mullaney) Jacobs, to whom he was wed for forty-three years at the time of her death on April 6, 2001.
Born in Attleboro, MA on November 4, 1938, he was a loving son of the late George F. and Arlene (Jess) Jacobs.
Ralph grew up in Norton, was educated in Norton schools and proudly served his country a member of the United States Navy. While serving in the Navy, Ralph was a boxer and was given the nickname “Shaky Jake.” The founder of RS Silk Screening in the Chartley section of Norton, Mr. Jacobs, along with the help of his hard-working family, successfully operated the company for many years. He was so happy that today the company is still family run under the guidance of Ralph’s granddaughter Tiffany Knight.
A communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Norton, Ralph’s greatest possession in life was his loving and adoring family. As a family they traveled extensively together, falling in love with the beauty of Alaska. Another favorite family getaway was on their own island in Somerville, Maine. Ralph was an avid bowler and bowled in North Attleboro for many years. He also enjoyed gardening and trips to Vegas.
Being the member of a close-knit family, he looked forward to yearly trips with only his brothers and walks with his dogs Sadie, Riley and Kasper accompanied by his brothers Carl and Leo, on Red Mill Road. Ralph will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him and will always be remembered for his kind and generous nature.
He is survived by his devoted children, Debora A. Knight and her husband Keith of Bean Station, TN, Lisa M. Jacobs of Norton, Karen T. Jacobs of Norton, Michael P. Jacobs of Norton and the late Gail L. Jacobs. He was the cherished grandfather of Edward, Jennifer, Tiffany, Amanda, Joshua and Gillian, the great grandfather of thirteen great grandchildren and the great-great grandfather of five great-great grandchildren. He was the dear brother of Tommy, Ronnie, Sandy, Linda, Leo, Susie, Kathy and the late George and Carl. He is also survived by several generations of loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, September 19th from 2:00-5:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp Street (Off Route 140, Taunton Avenue) Norton.
A funeral service will be held at the conclusion of visitation at 5:00 on Saturday at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home. Burial at the Timothy Plain Cemetery in Norton will be held privately at a later date.
