Stephen John Mazzola, age 58, passed away on August 6th, 2026. Stephen had recently made his home in Boca Raton, Florida after previously residing in Winchester, Massachusetts. While Stephen truly did hate the New England winters, he leaves his love with his children Heather Graves, Madison Mazzola, and Shane Mazzola.

Born to Nancy and Sebastian J. Mazzola in Reading, Massachusetts, Stephen grew up alongside his siblings Christina Svendsen and Joseph Mazzola. He developed a passion for the automotive industry working alongside his father throughout most of his childhood. This blossomed into a career, and soon a mastery in trucks and heavy equipment. His autobody shop, Bodyworks, along with his towing company, Stoneham Towing, was his pride and joy for several years, with Global Heavy Equipment Appraisal being the next to receive his knowledge and business expertise. While Stephen was the President of all three of these companies, this role was secondary to that of a parent.

Stephen had overcome several difficulties throughout his life and decided, at all junctions, to give his children a better life than his own. Sharing his children with his late former wife, Michele Charbonier, Stephen pushed himself to provide for his family. He also shared some of his hobbies and interests with those closest to him: Stephen loved the hard rock of the 70s, such as AC/DC, film, and history. Those who were lucky enough to know him personally were often surprised to learn about his extensive knowledge of far-off countries and historical events and luckier to be able to get him off of these topics when he engaged in them.

Stephen is survived by his three children: Heather Graves, Madison Mazzola and her boyfriend, Teddy Lang, whose support had made him a member of the family, and Shane Mazzola, as well as his siblings Christina Svendsen, her husband Robert, and Joseph Mazzola. Of his extended family, he survives Phillip and Roberta Mazzola, Ann Marie Carlson and joins her late husband Craig, Walter and Elizabeth Burke, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He joins his father, Sebastian J. Mazzola and mother Nancy Alner (Burke), his grandparents Joseph and Phyllis (Giarusso) Mazzola, his former wife Michele Charbonier and her parents Alfred P. Charbonier and Elaine D. (McLaughlin) Charbonier.

Stephen's personality filled a room, and his humor and antics belied his deep, unshakable responsibility to the people that were lucky enough to be loved by him.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend memorial visiting hours at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Friday, August 21st from 4 to 6 p.m. Services will conclude with a prayer service beginning at 6 p.m.
