Obituary

Anne (Tracy) Steeves
May 4, 1951 – June 3, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Anne (Tracy) Steeves, who went home to be with the Lord on June 3, 2026, at the age of 75. Anne passed away peacefully at her home in Whitinsville, Massachusetts, surrounded by the love of her daughters and granddaughter.

Born in Medford and raised in Stoneham, Massachusetts, Anne spent much of her life there, raising her daughters and building lifelong friendships. Later, she moved to Florida for work, where she lived for more than 15 years before returning to Massachusetts to be closer to the family she loved so dearly.

Anne was the beloved mother of Amy (Forbes) Whitaker and Rebecca Forbes, and a proud and loving grandmother to Sarah K. Jolly. She was a cherished sister to Janet (Tracy) Amerault, William "Billy" Tracy, Lorraine (Tracy) Belpedio, and Lawrence "Larry" Tracy. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard P. Steeves, and her parents, Herbert and Louise Tracy.

Nothing brought Anne more joy than spending time with family and friends. She loved visiting her daughters in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, gathering people around her table for a home-cooked meal, and sharing laughter with neighbors, friends, and siblings. She had a gift for making people feel welcome and cared for. Whether through a thoughtful conversation, a bit of practical advice, or a perfectly timed joke, Anne had a way of bringing comfort to those around her.

She enjoyed long drives with good music, talking about life, reminiscing, and staying connected to the people she loved. Her sense of humor, and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Anne's faith was the foundation of her life. Her love for Jesus sustained her through life's blessings and challenges alike. She read her Bible daily and found great comfort in Scripture, especially during the many health struggles she faced over the years. Even when she could no longer attend church in person, she remained steadfast in her faith, faithfully watching services from home and drawing strength from God's promises.

Anne's generous heart extended beyond her immediate family. She touched the lives of many, including, nieces and nephews, stepchildren and grandchildren, lifelong friends, neighbors, and foster children who grew into adults and carried her influence with them. Her legacy is one of love, faith, generosity, resilience, and unwavering devotion to family.

While her absence leaves a tremendous void, we find peace in knowing that she is now free from pain, resting in the presence of her Savior. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and remembered with gratitude by all whose lives she touched.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
