Steven Lee Purdy Jr., 62, of Anderson passed away on June 12, 2026 at his home following an extended illness.
He was born on September 9, 1963 in Anderson, IN to Steven Lee Sr. and Peggy L. Purdy. He was a 1982 graduate of Madison Heights High School. He served in the US Navy. He had worked at D and D Molding.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, sitting by the campfire and riding motorcycles. He loved serving in the US Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Jody (Fritz) Purdy of Anderson; his parents, Steven Lee Sr. and Peggy Purdy of Daleville; two children, Dustin Lee Purdy of Anderson and Brittney Purdy of Pendleton; four grandchildren; a sister, Angela Marie (Donny) Bradley of Statesville, NC; a niece and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jack and Kathleen Purdy; maternal grandparents, Willard and Betty Smothers; a grandson, Asher; and an uncle, Michael Purdy.
There will be no visitation or services per his wishes.
Memorial contributions may be given to Tunnels 2 Towers for the 9/11 Memorial.
