CHICOPEE – Levis Drapeau, 91, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee was Called Safely Home on Thursday, April 23, 2026. He passed into Eternal Life at his home surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Saint Prosper, Province of Quebec, Canada on December 14, 1934, a beloved son of the late Lucien and Georgiana (Champagne) Drapeau. He was raised and educated in Canada, moved to Holyoke in 1963, and settled in Chicopee in 1969 where he lived the remainder of his life. He was the owner and operator of Drapeau and Sons Siding in Chicopee. Levis was a former member of the Fairview Knights of Columbus Council 4044 and the Laurier Club, both in Chicopee. He was an avid golfer, often enjoying the links at East Mountain Country Club in Westfield. He was very proud of his two hole-in-ones he accomplished in Florida. He and his wife, Marie, were snowbirds for over 30 years enjoying winters in Hollywood and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and many friends. He leaves his beloved wife, Marie (Morin) Drapeau. They were married on July 29, 1961 in Saint Côme, P.Q., Canada and were blessed with over 64 years of happiness together. He also leaves his four loving and devoted children, Marlene A. Gay and her husband, Joseph, and Cathy N. Roy and her husband, Jim, all of Chicopee, Bernie R. Drapeau and his wife, Patricia McKenna of South Hadley, and Steve J. Drapeau of Chicopee; his twelve cherished grandchildren, Kathleen Gay, Laura Monahan and her husband, Ryan, Amanda Gay, Jordyn Roy, Jake Roy, Josh Roy, Gabrielle Rondeau and her husband Sean, Jared Drapeau and his wife, Lexie, Trevor McKenna and his wife, Rachel, Chad McKenna and his partner, Neesa, Nate Drapeau, and Jill Drapeau and her partner, Tyler Cote; his seven cherished great grandchildren, Derek, Emilia, Abigail, Soleia, Levi, Ryan, and Grayson; his dear brother, Roger Drapeau of California; his dear sister, Lisette Bledsoe of Texas; and his many nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his eight brothers and sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 (Please meet directly at the Church). His Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. There are no visiting hours at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. In lieu of flowers, his family requests that memorial donations be made in Levis’ memory to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
