
Alice Evos Papulis
June 19 ,1937- March 20, 2026
Alice Evos Papulis of Lexington, Massachusetts passed away on Friday, March 20th, 2026. She was born in Malden, MA the beloved daughter of Socrates and Marianthe Evos. Until junior high ,they along with her brother Constantino(Costa) resided in Somerville,MA, then built a home in the surrounding city of Medford, MA.
Alice was a graduate of Medford High School,Class of 1955 and then attended Lowell Teachers College (UMass Lowell) Class of 1959 in which she received a bachelor’s degree in education.
Alice married her husband William and they resided and raised their daughter in Reading, MA.
Summers were cherished for many years at their cottage in Dennisport, MA. Alice was the first on the beach with her Tab soda, transistor radio and blanket. Alice was also the last to leave the beach.Years later, every April school vacation Bill and Alice went to Aruba to their timeshare.
Alice was an elementary school teacher for the city of Medford teaching 2nd and 3rd grades. She had taught in all the elementary schools, but 2 during her 49 years and three months career. Her legacy will live on through the countless she touched.
Alice’s day didn’t end in the classroom. For 20 years she worked part-time at Jordan Marsh (Macy’s) as a sales associate in the Fine China department.
Alice was an avid reader, often reading 2 books at once, always reading the last page first. She loved music ,especially Frank Sinatra and Johnny Cash, the beach and one of her many dogs.
Her greatest joy was being a yiayia to her grandson Liam Proctor. He was her sunshine. She spent much time with him making sure he knew how to read, write, multiply and do cursive before entering Pre K.
She is survived by her daughter Elena, grandson Liam, sister in law Mary Evos, several nieces and great nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, her husband and Randall Proctor (Liam) in which they had a special relationship having their coffee time with Al talking about daily life and their childhoods.
A private service will be held in the summertime.
