It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edward Dean Perez Padilla, affectionately known as “Eddie,” who passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026, at the age of 70.
Eddie was born in Compton, California, and later made his home in Ventura, where he built a life centered around family, friendship, and community. He was known for his strong personality, infectious sense of humor, and his ability to light up any room with his presence.
Eddie had a deep passion for classic and sports cars, motorcycles, and music—especially oldies and classic rock. These were more than just hobbies; they were a reflection of his spirit and the way he lived life—full of energy, style, and authenticity. Anyone who knew Eddie knew how much he loved and embraced this lifestyle.
Above all, Eddie was a devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He is survived by his loving spouse, Loraine Padilla, his partner in life, whose unwavering love and support meant everything to him and who stood faithfully by his side through it all. He is also survived by his children: Edward Padilla Jr. (Valerie), Richard Padilla (Andrea), Destinee Padilla (Adolfo), Rocky Padilla, Jerry Gomez, and Thomas Gomez, who will carry forward his legacy and the values he instilled in them.
Eddie is also survived by his siblings: Rebecca Padilla (Bob), Steve Padilla (Juanita), Nancy Padilla (Henry), Robert Padilla (Lorraine), and Yvonne Velasco (Tino), along with many extended family members and dear friends who will continue to honor his memory.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lupe Padilla and Frank Padilla, as well as his siblings Frank Padilla, Linda Hernandez, Laura Aguilar, and Tommy Padilla.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has shown love, support, and prayers during this difficult time. Your kindness has brought comfort and strength when it was needed most.
Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Friday May 1, 2026 at 11:30am in Our Lady of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 3175 Telegraph Road Ventura.
