Stewart A. Midwood — A Life Lived Freely and Fully
Stewart A. Midwood, of Wellesley, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at the age of 64, after a long and courageous battle with complications from diabetes.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Stewart was the beloved son of Charlotte I. Midwood (Ingwersen) and Arnold J. Midwood. A lifelong resident of Wellesley, he grew up rooted in the community that would remain close to his heart throughout his life. Stewart attended several specialized elementary schools before graduating from Keefe Technical Vocational High School in Framingham, where he developed the independence and determination that would define him.
In his early adult years, Stewart worked at the Newton Marriott in the banquets department. Whether setting up elegant events or bustling gatherings, he took pride in his work and enjoyed contributing to moments that brought people together.
Stewart was, at his core, ambitious and spirited—a man who believed in following his own path. A true free spirit, he had a talent for turning his ideas into reality, pursuing what he wanted with determination and enthusiasm. He found joy in life’s adventures; he was a scooter enthusiast, loved carnivals and flea markets, and enjoyed the open waters in his speedboats.
For more than 30 years, one of Stewart’s greatest passions was volunteering at the Wellesley Give-and-Take. A familiar and welcoming presence there, he took pride in organizing and sorting donated items, always ready to lend a hand. With a keen eye for the unique and unexpected, Stewart was also an avid collector, finding joy in discovering treasures that others might overlook. His dedication and presence made him a true staple of the Give-and-Take community.
More than anything, Stewart will be remembered for his independent nature, his sense of adventure, and the way he lived life on his own terms. His presence brought energy and authenticity to those around him, and his memory will continue to live on in the stories shared by family and friends.
Stewart is survived by his beloved longtime girlfriend, Jennifer Vancore, of more than 30 years, of Newton. His sister, Caroline Sinagra (Midwood); his nephew, Stephen R Sinagra of Warren, New Hampshire, his Sister-in-law, Deirdre, Taylor, and brother-in-law, Micheal Kenealy, both of Canton, Massachusetts, his Aunt, Jean Ingwersen of Exeter, New Hampshire; his cousins, Nancy Ingwersen of Arlington, Massachusetts, and John and Claire Ingwersen; and his niece, Rebecca Ingwersen, and nephews, Owen and Finn Ingwersen of Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
