Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Earl "Buster" Cooper announces his passing on March 3rd, 2026, at the age of 76.

Earl was born in Stamford, Connecticut, on December 12, 1949, the fifth of nine children. He grew up in a busy household that may not have offered much privacy, but was full of love, something that stayed with him throughout his life.

He was a devoted dad, spending time with his sons bike riding, skating, sledding, skiing, and attending their baseball games, always cheering them on. He always looked forward to seeing his grandchildren, either at their homes in CT and PA or during their visits to Roslindale, for birthday celebrations, family gatherings, and trips to the zoo.

Earl had a lifelong love for anything on two wheels, from his first bike to motorcycles and, later, electric bikes. Bikes were a big part of his life in the Roslindale, MA area, where he lived after retirement. He was a familiar face in and around the Arnold Arboretum, often spending many hours looking for and taking pictures and videos of his favorite animals: owls, turtles, hawks, egrets, and bullfrogs.

He was incredibly handy, hardworking, and generous. With a background in construction, Earl could fix just about anything and took pride in doing so. He was always available to extend a helping hand to anyone in need, whether it be carrying groceries, shoveling snow, helping someone in financial need, or rescuing animals.

Earl is survived by his sons, Earl Daniel (Danny), Steven, and Adam, and his beloved grandchildren Riley, Vivianne, Caroline, and Nora. He is also survived by his siblings, Carole, Diana, Barbara, Alan, Joanne, Louise, and Janice. He was predeceased by his sister Kathryn Cooper and his parents, Earl and Josephine.

He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

A family memorial service will be held this summer at St. Johns Catholic Cemetery, Darien, CT.
