Roy G. Parker, 77
Dateline: Moultrie, Georgia Roy G. Parker, age 77, of Moultrie, Georgia, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, March 20, 2026, at the home of his daughter in Taunton. He was the beloved husband of the late Sara E. (Kirkley) Parker, to whom he was happily wed for twelve years at the time of her death on July 6, 201o. Born in Moultrie, Georgia on July 11, 1948, he was a loving son pf the late Horace A. and Ida V. (Cato) Parker. Roy grew up and was educated in Moultrie, the town where he lived for most of his life. During the Vietnam War, he proudly served his country for four years in the United States Air Force. Following four years of faithful service, he was honorably discharged on January 14, 1972 with the rank of Airman First Class. Prior to retiring, Mr. Parker was employed for twenty-seven years as an Engineer at the narine Corps Logistics Base. He loved spending time with his adoring family, who equally loved him back. His hobbies included older and classic cars, being a NASCAR fan, times spent at the beach, listening to music, horses, target shooting and cheering on his favorite baseball team, the Atlanta Braves. He is survived by devoted children, Stephanie E. Samuelson of Taunton, Michelle L. Goodwin of Norton, Rachel L. Mailloux of Attleboro, Jamie R. Jacobs of Hartsfield, Georgia and Judson J. Parker of Valdosta, Georgia. He was the dear brother of Glenn Parker of Georgia, Jerry Parker of Georgia, Tony Parker of Georgia, Rex Parker of Georgia, Gail Giles of Georgia, Sheila Parker of Georgia, Cheryl Parker of Georgia of Georgia and the late Dwala Coleman. He is also survived by his cherished 9 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, as well as his many loving nieces and nephews. Services, along with burial at Suncrest Memorial Gardens in Moultrie, Georgia will be held privately at a later date and visiting hours are omitted.
