Sondra was born and raised in Roxbury, Massachusetts, where her life was shaped by deep love, resilience, and unwavering devotion to family. She was raised by her great-grandmother, Bertha, whom Sondra lovingly described as her mother, father, grandmother, and grandfather all in one. Bertha’s steadfast guidance, strength, and unconditional care laid the foundation for Sondra’s values, nurturing her resilience and her lifelong commitment to those she loved.
Family always remained at the very heart of Sondra’s life. In 1959, she was blessed with her handsome son, Kevin. Although he sadly predeceased her, Kevin is spoken of often, and his memory lives on eternally in the hearts of all who loved him.
Sondra shared an incredibly special and loving bond with her brothers, Frederick and Jockery, who also predeceased her. As the oldest and only girl, she proudly embraced her role as “the boss,” a title she carried with strength and affection.
One of Sondra’s greatest blessings is her nephew, Ballin, who has been her constant companion and spokesperson — someone we have all had the pleasure of knowing and cherishing. She is also lovingly survived by her nieces, Janeen Wright, Chevelle Wright, Brigette Tavares, and Belinda Wright, who held a special place in her heart.
She also held a very dear place in her heart for her longtime friend, Lilia. Their friendship began more than 20 years ago when they became neighbors in Sharon and has only grown stronger with time.
Sondra attended Boston Public Schools and went on to build a successful and dedicated career as an administrative assistant to the CEO within the Human Resources department. She remained committed to this role for over 20 years, earning respect for her professionalism and dedication.
A devoted animal lover, Sondra had a special fondness for cats and shared an extraordinary bond with her beloved cat, Fox. Anyone fortunate enough to meet him knew that Fox was more than just a pet — he was a vibrant presence full of strength, personality, and charm, much like Sondra herself.
Sondra is a kind, loving woman whom we are all truly fortunate to have known.
Following cremation, she will be laid to rest with her son, Kevin, later in the spring at the family plot.
