Lowell Eugene Hayes, 70, Thousand Oaks, CA, passed away on February 19, 2026. Lowell was born in Burbank, California to Robert M Hayes and Beulah Hesson Hayes on December 21, 1955. He graduated from Lincoln Southeast High School in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1975. Lowell had a passion for all things aviation. He loved to make people laugh and could be the life of the party. He was an avid reader but wanted to be an actor and played as an Extra in several films. Lowell loved his family deeply although he referred to himself as the “black sheep”.
Lowell is survived by his stepmother, Pauline R Hayes, Marina Del Rey, CA, two older brothers, Michael T Hayes, Minneapolis, MN, Robert G Hayes (Maria (Cissa) Marinari-Hayes), Lake Worth, FL, a sister, Gail H Sallee (Thomas), Columbia, MO. He had three nieces and two nephews, great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by both parents.
