Morgan Elizabeth Mallard-Vitiello, 33, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones following a brief illness. Morgan was a "bright light" who left a sparkle wherever she went, a trait that defined her short but impactful life.
Born on October 14, 1992, Morgan was a lifelong resident of South Boston. She attended Gate of Heaven and became a familiar face in the neighborhood, from her early days at Dunkin’ Donuts—where she famously appeared in a commercial with Rob Gronkowski—to her time at Southie’s Own. She eventually found her professional home with the City of Boston Inspectional Services. It was there that Morgan truly flourished, treating everyone she met with the same kindness and building a community of friends that spanned the city. Her coworkers affectionately dubbed her “Hollywood,” as she was the undisputed fashionista of ISD.
Morgan’s greatest joy was her family. Eight years ago, she experienced her proudest moment when she became a mother to Mya. The two were an inseparable, "fabulous duo," sharing a love for bright colors, dresses over jeans, and their daily skin routines. When Morgan met the love of her life, Francis Vitiello, he knew he had to win over Mya’s heart as well. Fran welcomed Mya with open arms, and they became the "Three Musketeers." Morgan’s family was made complete with the arrival of her "wild child," Frankie. Fran, Mya, and Frankie gave Morgan the happiest years of her life.
Morgan had a zest for life and simple pleasures. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, trips to Mohegan Sun, and the Irish Village. She was a fan of true crime podcasts and Chinese food, but perhaps most of all, she fully embraced the "passenger princess" life, loving nothing more than being chauffeured everywhere she went.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Francis Vitiello; her children, Mya and Frankie; her parents, Susan Kenneally and Bryan Van Dorpe; and her siblings, Brendan Toland and Kayla Mallard. She was the cherished granddaughter of Valerie and the late Joe Kenneally, and Richard and Karen Mallard. She was predeceased by her father, Richie Mallard. Morgan also leaves behind her Titi, Valerie and her sons, Matthew and Ryan Hogan; Lin and Lilly Kenneally; her aunt Kaitlin and husband Chris Cirone; her in-laws, Linda Devoy and Fran and Cheryl Vitiello; and a wide circle of cousins and friends who will miss her vibrant spirit.
Morgan’s family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (11–C) for their compassionate care.
