In loving memory
Alfredo Roderick Brown
Sunrise: October 27, 1955
Sunset: February 2, 2026
Alfredo was born on October 27, 1955, in Colón, Panama, to Frederick Brown and Gwendolyn Escoe Cox, where he spent most of his young life.
He migrated to the United States in 1971, settling in Cambridge, where he attended Cambridge Rindge & Latin School. He graduated in 1974 and went on to study at ITT Tech.
Alfredo worked at Draper Labs, Bose, and Gillette before transitioning to what became his most rewarding role: serving as a Ranger for the Department of Conservation and Recreation. In addition to being a dedicated worker, he loved and took great pride in serving his Lord and Saviour, and he faithfully served as an Usher at St. Paul’s A.M.E. Church in Cambridge.
In 1978, he met and married his former wife, Sandra Bushell. From that union came his children, Alfredo Jr. and Zafir. In later years, he welcomed his son-in-law, Jessie Corum, whom he loved and regarded as a son. Alfredo was the ultimate family man who cherished and took immense pride in his family, especially his grandchildren: Izabella, Anthony, Payton, Trinitylee, Xavier, Aries, and Kaiden.
Alfredo was preceded in death by his mother, Gwendolyn; his father, Frederick; and his sisters, Veronica, Lena, and Gladys.
On February 2, 2026, after a period of declining health, Alfredo transitioned to be with his Lord and Saviour. In addition to his former love, children, and grandchildren, he leaves to mourn his nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, devoted friends, his church family, his DCR family, and a host of people who knew and loved him dearly.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Alfredo’s life at St. Paul’s A.M.E. Church on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 10:00 a.m, 37 Bishop Allen Drive, Cambridge, MA 02139.
POEM
When tomorrow starts without me:
Don’t think we’re far apart
For everytime you think of me
I’m right here in your heart.
