Frederick J. Delfino, age 89, a sixty- two- year resident of North Attleboro, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his adoring and much-loved family, on Monday, February 16, 2026 at home. He was the beloved husband of Doreen B. (Albertini) Delfino, to whom he was wed on June 3, 1961.

Born in Norwood, MA on February 5, 1937, he was a loving son of the late Romeo B. and Mary J. (McNamara) Delfino.

Fred grew up in his hometown of Mansfield. He left high school early to proudly serve as a member of the United States Marine Corps. Following three years of faithfully serving the country he loved, he was honorably discharged on March 8, 1957 with the rank of Private. Upon returning home, he graduated from Mansfield High School in 1958 and continued his studies at Coyne Electric in Boston.

Prior to retiring, Mr. Delfino had been employed at North Bowl Lanes in North Attleboro for thirty-five years, retiring as General Manager. He also worked on his own as a carpenter and was the former owner of the Golden Cue in both North Attleboro and Mansfield. After retiring, Mr. Delfino worked in security at Gillette Stadium.

An accomplished and passionate bowler, Fred bowling affiliations included being a member of the PBA, was a co-founder and member of the New England Bowlers Association, where he served as a former president and tournament director. He was later inducted into the NEBA Hall of Fame and was also elected to the Brockton Hall of Fame.

Fred’s greatest gift in life was his adoring family, whom he loved dearly and especially enjoyed attending all of their events. He was an avid and diehard New England sports fan, enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, a hobby he shared with his wife Doreen and will forever be remembered for his strong work ethics and the generosity he extended to both family and all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his loving and devoted children, Lauren Schmidt and her husband Gregg of Attleboro, Linda Osborne and her husband Thomas of Plymouth, Kristen Downing and her husband James of Seekonk, Steven Delfino of Milford and Frederick Delfino of Oklahoma. He was the cherished grandfather of Keeghan Koza, Gregg Schmidt, Alaina Corsini, John Corsini, Daniel Osborne, Julia Kinsey, Jill Bernard, Marcus Downing, the late Janie Downing and the treasured great grandfather of Kingston, Kaliyah, Karleigh, Gatlin, Hudson and Layla. He was the dear brother of Pauline Etter of Norton, Charles Delfino of Attleboro, Michael Delfino of Mansfield, Ginny Brooks of Indiana, DeeDee Pattee of South Attleboro and the late Rosemary Leonard and John Delfino. He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, February 28th from 9:00 A.M.-12:00 Noon at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.

Family reflections will be held at the conclusion of visiting hours at 12:00 Noon in the funeral home followed by committal prayers, along with military honors, at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.

In lieu of flowers, Frederick’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the New England Center and Home for Veterans, 17 Court Street, Boston, MA 02108.
