WATERFORD: Alice T. Desbonnet, 99, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, just two months shy of her 100th birthday. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Raymond, of nearly 77 years, who died in January of 2024.
Alice was born in Norwich on February 27, 1926, the daughter of Adella and John Trojanowski. She worked in retail in the Norwich area until marrying Raymond upon his return from wartime military service in the South Pacific. The couple started a family in Norwich then moved to Franklin (CT) in the mid-1960s.
Alice was a homemaker, raised a family of five boys, assisted in the rearing of several grandchildren, and had the opportunity to dote upon a few great grandchildren. Alice was an active volunteer at the Franklin town library and held several part-time retail positions as children became more independent. Alice and Raymond traveled extensively, visiting all the U.S. states excluding Alaska. She enjoyed crochet, reading, gardening, and history.
Alice is survived by sons Kenneth and his wife Beth, Alan and his wife Charlene, Brian, Donald, and Richard and his wife Maret, 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
All services for Alice will be private for the family.
