Reginald “Peaches” Ford began his new spiritual journey on January 10, 2026. Born on December 17, 1946, in Goldsboro, North Carolina, Peaches migrated to Newark, New Jersey in the mid-1950s, where he built a life rooted in family, community, and resilience. He was the cherished son of the departed Vanderson Ford and late Joseline Green.
Peaches was married to the late Dorothy Curry-Ford from 1966 to 2009. Their union brought forth daughters Sopheria (deceased) and Shaneke. In time, he found love again with Debroah “Debb” Ford and became a devoted husband.
Known for his storytelling, and “peach tales,” Peaches often spoke of his childhood in Goldsboro, his migration to Newark, and his Mason brotherhood with Jerusalem 65. He always found ways to move forward with resourcefulness and determination. Together with Dorothy, he was deeply involved in community engagement and advocacy for the less fortunate.
In 2018, Peaches moved to Brockton, Massachusetts. He shared a vibrant life of new experiences with Debb. Their life together was filled with travel, friendship, and exploration. Peaches volunteered at the Haven in Brockton and the Homeless Improvement Project (HIP). Peaches was a familiar, welcoming presence in the community and often found near Stairway to Recovery.
He is survived by his wife Debb, children: Shaneke (Dennis) Gholston, Marcel (Kelly) Pabon, Monique Pabon, Vonte Ford, beloved cat “Streetz” Ford; grandchildren: Sherrod (Jewel) Ford-Cherry, Nyree Ford-Cherry, Zaire Alexander Munroe-Pabon; great-grandson: Carter Onyx Nyree Ford-Cherry; siblings, Regina Melton, and Ronald Knight, along with a host of other relatives, friends, and extended family, who mourn his passing.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the outpouring of prayers, love, and support during this difficult time. Your kindness, words of comfort, and continued presence have been a source of strength and solace.
An Honoring of Reginald’s Life will be held on Thursday, January 15th in the Central United Methodist Church, 65 West Elm Street Brockton from 11 am to 12:30 pm. Repass immediately following.
