Indrique Izidore, a Good Samaritan, a beloved father, grandfather, husband, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away at age 86 on Sunday morning, January 4th, 2026.
Indrique was born on November 15, 1939 to Amemoire Izidore and Anélicia Philogène in Plaisance, South of Haiti. A loving brother to Dutonique, Phillippe, Ertilia, Previlia, Erzulia, the late Dufontaine Izidore, the late Edouard, the late Sainciane, and the late Lina. Indrique was beloved first by those who were with him in his formative years. Affectionately known as “Toto, he emigrated to the United States to ensure a better quality of life for his family and would in turn establish roots that would influence and fortify future generations of his family tree. A loving man who could put anyone at ease with a laugh, Toto was the perfect example of what it means to be a caretaker and the head of a family. He felt a sense of great responsibility towards those he loved most and he shouldered that weight with grace and eagerness. Indrique, was proud to be Haitian and he wanted his fellow countrymen to share in that pride as well and cultivate excellence through their own work and achievement as well. Indrique was an immigrant who made a way for those who came after him while working diligently to ensure their path forward. This didn’t apply to just his own family; he was responsible for bringing public education to Plaisance, the area where he was from in Haiti. His dream was to establish a library for his home as well; something the people could benefit from in perpetuity. He wanted all of his people to have the chance for a fulfilling life. Truly selfless and giving, he loved struggling for his loved ones and that hard work paid off. Never willing to stand still, even in retirement you would find him moving furniture and trying to mow the lawn, bad shoulder and all. Indrique enjoyed playing his Cash Word scratch ticket every day. He loved reading his Bible every night before bed. He loved hearing from his grandchildren. He loved giving them money for gas even if they didn’t need it. Indrique was a humble man who enjoyed the simple things that somehow make life special. He would not want us to weep but really appreciate life and what it means to be alive with every breath we take. He loved his family, life, and above all: his Lord and Savior. Toto’s favorite quotes: 1-Bagay yo pa simp. 2- Ou pa ka ginyin min fow jwe. 3- Se janw wel la. He is smiling down on us as he celebrates with his loved ones in Heaven, namely his brothers Dufontaine and Edouard, his sisters Sainciane, Erzulia, and Lina, his son-in-law Maxant, and his wife Anne. Indrique will always be remembered by his friends and family. He is survived by his daughter Sonia Izidore Saint Louis, grandsons: Drickerson Izidore Saint Louis, Max-Son Izidore Saint Louis, and Nick Izidore Saint Louis, his stepdaughter Rachelle Jean-Louis and her husband Raud, their children Reed and Raeanna, his brothers: Dutonique Izidore, Phillipe Izidore, and sisters: Ertilia Izidore and Previlia Izidore.
