Carol A. (Byrnes) McGaffigan, of Andover formerly of Medford, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, December 20th, she was 87. Born in Boston, she was the cherished daughter of the late Richard G and Ameila (Dossantos) Byrnes.

Carol was the beloved wife of 66 years to the late Peter W. McGaffigan, Jr. She was the devoted mother of Peter McGaffigan and his wife Ruth of Woburn, Susan Monaco of Andover and her late husband Ronald, Richard McGaffigan and his wife Beth of Tewksbury, Patricia Coccoluto and her husband John of Wilmington, Kevin McGaffigan and his wife Kathleen of Medford, Paul McGaffigan and his wife Donna of Wilmington, and Michael McGaffigan and his wife Roxanne of Hamstead, NH. Loving grandmother of 14 grandchildren and caring great grandmother of Nathan Malone. Carol is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral from The Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Monday, December 29th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday, December, 28th from 4 to 8 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
