Thomas S. “Tommy” Glavin
March 12, 1954 – December 13, 2025

Thomas S. “Tommy” Glavin, 71, of Foxboro, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025. Born on March 12, 1954, Tommy was a proud lifelong resident of Dorchester, Massachusetts. He graduated from South Boston High School in 1972 and carried with him a deep love for his community and its traditions.

Tommy was predeceased by his parents, Thomas S. Glavin Sr. and Grace J. (Albert) Glavin, as well as his sisters Edith Dresser and Catherine McDonagh. He is survived by his loving siblings, Eileen Lydon and Daniel Glavin, and by many nieces and nephews whom he cherished dearly.

Tommy dedicated his professional life to serving others. He worked for Amtrak for 38 years, where he was known for his reliability and strong work ethic, and later for Boston Public Schools for 15 years, continuing his commitment to his community.

A passionate sports enthusiast, Tommy was proud of his time playing football for the South Boston Chippewas and earned a place in the Hall of Fame as a member of the Savin Hill Dukies softball team. His dedication to athletics reflected his competitive spirit and love for teamwork. Tommy was also an active member of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield, where his faith and sense of community were central to his life.

Tommy’s warmth, humor, and devotion to family and friends will be remembered by all who knew him. His love for sports and his unwavering loyalty to those he cared about leave a lasting legacy.

Services: Wake will be held at Casper Funeral Home, South Boston, on Sunday, December 21, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral arrangements will be shared with family and friends.
