Anita Emilda Francois Browne (88) of Avon passed away peacefully on December 9th at home under hospice care, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Henley Browne.
Born in Whiteland, Trinidad, Anita was the daughter of the late Dennis Reginald Francois and Carmen Cecilia LaFoucade Francois, also her late brothers and sisters, Clifton Berkley, Rita 'Vie' Francois Outram, Evan Conrade Francois, and Theresa 'Francica' Francois. She dedicated her professional life to service as a Regional House Director of Hospitality at San Fernando General Hospital, from which she retired after many years of faithful work.
A devoted communicant of St. Michael’s Church in Avon and of Pro-Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish,(Her Church in San Fernando, Trinidad), and member of Prayer Groups, The Servants of Jesus Christ the Lord CCR and Zion Pray Community CCR. Anita’s faith was central to her life. She was deeply passionate about helping others, especially feeding the poor and homeless. She also found joy in singing, dancing, making her own wine, and living her life as an entrepreneur.
Anita is survived by her loving daughter Helyn M. Francois-Trotman and her husband Michael Trotman; her sisters Eutrice Francois and Josephine Francois LeeChee; her god-daughter Celis LeeChee; her grandchildren Candice Francois Paul and Kendall Huggins; and her six great-grandchildren, Dominique Paul, Jasmyn Paul, Gabrielle Paul, Rihanna Huggins, Keyanna Huggins, and Tiana Huggins. She is also survived by her stepson Errol Browne, her step-children, Marva and Patrica Brown, her best friend Margaret Frederick, many step-grandchildren, Father Trevor Natasingh, her ex son-in-law Stanley Huggins, also cherished by the siblings and extended family of Michael Trotman, whom she lovingly adopted as her son and who embraced her as mom, and a host of extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held at the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel, 238 Court Street, Brockton, on Monday, December 22nd, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 23rd, at 10:00 AM at St. Michael’s Church, 87 North Main Street, Avon. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, 163 North Cary Street, Brockton.
