CHICOPEE – Joyce Marie LaBonte, 74, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, November 23, 2025. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on March 21, 1951, a beloved daughter of the late Homer LaBonte and Irene (Bessette) LaFleur. She was raised in Holyoke, graduated from Holyoke High School, and moved to Chicopee in 1970 where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a fork lift operator at the Avery Dennison Paper Company in Holyoke and retired in 2013. She was a private person who enjoyed the quiet of her home. She was proud of her French Canadian heritage and was always ready to “talk smack” with anyone willing to take her on. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She leaves her two loving and devoted nieces, Traci S. Nelson and her husband, Troy, of Fern Park, FL, and their children, Tia (Nelson) Gray and her husband, Dakari, and Tanner Nelson; and Tina M. Noyce Wiswedel and her husband, Karl Wiswedel, of St. Augustine, FL, and their son, Nicklaus Wiswedel; her nephew, Kyle R. LaFleur and his wife, Erin, of Enfield, CT and their daughter, Maive LaFleur; and her many dear cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her dear sister, Patricia A. (LaFleur) Noyce who was Called Home on October 9, 2021; and her dear brother, Robert LaFleur and his wife, Diane. Family and friends are invited to attend her burial service on Friday, April 3, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
