CHICOPEE – Shirley A. (Sullivan) Piquette, 93, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, November 17, 2025. She Passed into Eternal Life at her home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on July 18, 1932, a beloved daughter of the late Charles M. and Mary M. (Varley) Sullivan. She was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee High School and was a resident of the city for most of her life. She took great pride in her Irish heritage and raising her family. During her leisure time, she enjoyed reading, walking around the neighborhood and occasionally trying her luck at Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Roger M. “Picky” Piquette. They were married at the former Saint Mary of the Assumption Church in Chicopee on April 14, 1951 and were blessed with over 56 years of happiness together. She leaves her four loving and devoted children, David R. Piquette and his wife, Debra, of Belchertown, and Lois A. Piquette, Brenda J. Prince and her husband, Bill, and Nancy M. Ayotte, all of Chicopee; her loving daughter in law, Sandy Piquette of Chicopee; her eight cherished grandchildren, Ryan Piquette and his wife, Rachel, Branden Piquette and his partner, Alexa Andrzejewski, Justin Piquette and his partner, Ali Concha-Sánchez, Michael Piquette, Kevin Piquette, Samantha Brouillette and her husband, Jake, Devan Ayotte, and Lillie Ayotte; her three cherished great grandchildren, Cambrie Holmberg and her husband, Caleb, Kayleen Piquette, and Mason Piquette; her great great granddaughter, Anora Holmberg; her dear brother, James Sullivan and his wife, Jean, of Chicopee; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her beloved son, James S. “Jay” Piquette who was Called Home on April 19, 2021; her dear sister, Mary Kulig and her husband, Ted; and her two dear sisters in law, Rita Labrie and her husband, Fern, and Claire Piquette. Her funeral services are private and burial will be private in Sainte Rose Cemetery in Chicopee. There are no visiting hours.
