Joseph C. Ghiloni, Jr.
June 1, 1943 – October 29, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, Joseph C. Ghiloni, Jr., who passed away peacefully at the age of 82. After a courageous battle with cancer, he died surrounded by family on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH.

Born on June 1, 1943, in Washington, D.C., Joe was the son of the late Joseph and Edith (Metzger) Ghiloni. As a youngster, he earned his Ham Radio License, sparking his lifelong interests in geography, history, and travel. He was awarded a full scholarship to Merrimack College, where he graduated with honors with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. Upon graduation, he received a research fellowship from Stanford University, where he earned his master’s degree.

Joe enjoyed a successful career in the telecommunications industry, working at Bell Laboratories, Western Electric, and Lucent Technologies. He was honored to achieve recognition as a Member of Technical Staff. Known for his curiosity and generosity of spirit, Joe was a wealth of knowledge, sharing his passions for astronomy, history, classical music, and numismatics with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Peggy (Lally) Ghiloni of Londonderry; two sons, Brian C. Ghiloni and his wife Hope Myers of Baltimore, MD, and Kenneth J. Ghiloni and his wife Tonida Ghiloni of Wakefield, MA. He was predeceased by his sister, June Larner.

Following cremation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mark the Evangelist Church, 1 South Rd., Londonderry, NH on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. The church will be open beginning at 10:15 a.m. for family and friends to pay their respects.

Per his wishes, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook Road, Merrimack, NH; or New Hampshire PBS, 268 Mast Road, Durham, NH. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the many caregivers who provided compassion, empathy, and dedication throughout the past several months.
