Donald Mattos, 88 Dateline: Zephyrhills, Florida Donald Mattos, age 88, of Zephyrhills, Florida, formerly of Attleboro, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025 at the Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater. He was the beloved husband of the late Marion C. (Mingo) Mattos, to whom he was wed for fifty-six years at the time of her death on September 16, 2016. Born in Taunton, MA on September 5, 1937, he was a loving son of the late John and Grace (Booth) Mattos. He was predeceased by his only sibling Joanne Machado and her husband Joseph. Donald grew up in Raynham and served in the United States Army from 1955-1963, two years on active duty; spending eighteen months in Darmstadt, Germany and completing six years of active and inactive Reserves in Massachusetts. Don was a Group Leader of the Plating Department at Texas Instruments in Attleboro, retiring after forty years in 1997. Don made his home in Florida for the past twenty-five years and enjoyed traveling, cruises, playing cards and loved his yardwork. Donald is survived by his loving children, Gary and his wife Laurie Mattos of Norton, Shelley Alward of Seekonk and Glenn Mattos and his companion Renee O’Toole of Norton. He was the cherished grandfather of Tiffany, Alicia, Jonathan, Nicholas and his wife Haleigh and the treasured great grandfather of Janessa, Malakai, Mia, as well as one more blessing on the way. He is survived by his sister-in-law Claudia Mingo of Attleboro and his sister-in-law and best friend Jelene Mingo of Seminole, Florida. He is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday, October 16th from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp Street (Off Route 140, Taunton Avenue) Norton. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 17th at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 1 Power Street, Norton.
