Edward Wise Orender

Edward Wise Orender, 87, of Anderson, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on September 21, 2025.
Born on June 1, 1938, in Wise, Virginia, Edward spent most of his life in Anderson, Indiana. He was a devoted Christian whose faith guided his life, and he retired from Anderson Community Schools after years of dedicated service. Edward’s greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who were the light of his life. To know him was to love him.
He is survived by his children, Edwina Dorn, Betty Golday, and Amy Matthews; his sister-in-law, Jenny Clevenger; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anna Sue Orender; his parents, Arvil Bruce Orender and Margaret Phillips; his brothers, Jimmy, Johnny, and Thedford; and other cherished loved ones.
Funeral will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Ned Clark of Chesterfield Christian Church officiating.
Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday before the service at the funeral home.
