Richard Leon Kelly

Richard Leon Kelly, 91, of Anderson went to be with the Lord peacefully on August 12, 2025 at Countryside Health and Rehabilitation.
He was born December 26, 1933 in Anderson, the son of V. Frank and Sarah (Penisten) Kelly.
He served in the United States Navy.
He was a toolmaker at Delco Remy and Magnequench divisions of General Motors for 43 1/2 years before retiring in 1993.
He was a charter Member of Richland Township Volunteer Fire Department and served as chief for a term as well as being an Emergency Medical Technician. He was a devoted member, trustee, Sunday School teacher for many years and served on the board of ministries of Wesley Free Methodist Church.
Richard is survived by his wife of 70 years, Lois (Lester) Kelly whom he married June 19, 1955 in Anderson; three children, Teresa (Dan) Joyce of Pendleton, Tina Kelly of Anderson and Richard (Jane) Kelly of Plainfield, Illinois; his sister, Grace Bollenbacher of Fort Wayne; three grandchildren, Keri (Matt) Davis, Michael (Danielle) Joyce and Richard Kelly; four great grandchildren, Tyler, Lincoln, Rebeckah and Cooper; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and two sisters.
Services will be 1:00 P.M. on Monday, August 18, 2025 at Wesley Free Methodist Church with Pastor Mike Hopper officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the service Monday at the church.
Burial will follow in East Maplewood Cemetery with military rites by the Daleville American Legion.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Wesley Free Methodist Church.
