Obituary

Worcester – Robert S. Sauriol, 71, a lifelong Worcester resident passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, August 2, 2025 with his family by his side after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Bob leaves behind his loving and caring wife of 50 years, Micha (Om) Sauriol; his two children, Susan Carrigan and her husband, David of Worcester and Stephen Sauriol of Worcester; two brothers, Richard Sauriol of Goodyear, AZ and Thomas Sauriol of Moultonborough, NH; his two grandchildren, Kayla Carrigan and David Carrigan Jr.; an aunt, Carol Marchand and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was born in Worcester, son of the late Rene J. Sauriol Jr. and Shirley M. (Murray) Sauriol. Bob graduated from the former Saint Peter’s High School and then entered the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War. While serving in the United States Army, Bob was stationed in Korea and that is where he met the love of his life, Micha. Micha came back to the United States with Bob and they started a family and had a wonderful 50 years of marriage.

Mr. Sauriol spent his entire career working in the corrugated box and paper industry, starting at the Owens-Illinois Company and then continuing on with Rand Whitney, Creative Packaging and only retiring recently due to illness as a foreman from Hexacomb Packaging in Connecticut. In addition to his full-time job, he took great enjoyment working many years as a part time employee at the DCU Center in Worcester.

Bob was a lifetime member of Saint Peter’s Church. He was a dedicated sports fan and especially enjoyed following the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Bruins. He enjoyed taking trips to Las Vegas, Florida and relaxing in the White Mountains but he was truly the happiest when he was with his children and grandchildren.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, August 9 from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by his cousin, Rev. Jonathan Amidon at 10 AM in Saint Peter’s Church 929 Main St. Worcester. Burial will follow with military honors in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 8 from 5 to 7 PM in the funeral home.
