Mary 'Mania' Perkoski Sienkiewicz July 19, 2025
Mary "Mania" Perkos-ki Sienkiewicz, 90 years old, died at home on July 19, 2025. Widow of Edward R. Sienkiewicz who died 9/4/1980. Daughter of the late Mary Misiura and Alexander Perkoski. She was Salutatorian of her 1952 Class at Olyphant High School. A Member of Saint Carlo Acutis Parish, Olyphant and Midvalley Catholic Golden Club.
She is survived by 4 daughters, MaryAnn Klem (David) Throop, Karen Kutkowsk1 (Robert), Mondale, Diane Gretkowski (Joseph), Olyphant, and Janet Sienkiewicz, Peckville; 8 grandchildren, Paul, Ronald, Robert, Lindsey, Ryan, John, Jillian and Jenna, 10 great grandchildren, Mia, Alivia, Isabella, Benjamin, Matthew, Evan, Claire, Quinn, Ellis, and Corinne. One sister-in-law, Frances Perkoski, nieces, a nephew and cousins. Also, Peter Swaboski, her dear friend and companion for the last 20 years and her "lap cat", Oscar who never left her side; preceded in death by her brother, Francis Perkoski.
Mary was Widowed at the young age of 45, she not only learned how to drive but attended Meridian nursing school and graduated as a L.P.N., as well as caring for her own mother. She worked as a nurse at the Midvalley Hospital before retiring. Our mom made the best pierogis as well as being a wonderful baker, known for her poppy seed and nut rolls, and was an excellent sewer and made beautiful crocheted afghans. She enjoyed going on bus trips with her girlfriends to the casinos and her Sunday rides with Pe-ter. She was a wonderful, loving mother who would do anything for her children and will be missed terri- The family would like to extend a special gratitude to the staff of Allied Home Health Hospice, especially Johnathan, Nicole, Jennifer and Samantha who treated her with loving care, compassion and dignity at all times, she loved you all.
A funeral mass will be conducted Friday at 9:30
AM in St. Patrick's Church Olyphant. Friends may call 8:30 AM until service time and interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
