Claire Woodworth

Claire Woodworth, passed away July 16th in St Mary's Villa, Elmhurst. Daughter of Michael and Mildred Check, Blakley PA. She is the the widow of the late Lt Col USMC Norman E Woodworth, who met in highschool and married in 1951; a marriage of 66 years. She was a Graduate of Holy Ghost Parochial School, Blakely High School, Empire Beauty School and was employed with William's Beauty Salon at The Globe Store.
Surviving are children, Jacqueline A Silcox, husband Charles Silcox, Lincoln University PA; Douglas E Woodworth, wife Amanda Winterthur DE; she has 3 grand children and 6 great grand children. Sister Marie Danko resides in Maryland.  She is preceded in death by brother James Check and son James J. Woodworth. Along with her husband Norm she was a Penn State 30-year season Football ticket holder. She was an avid  tennis player and enjoyed walking everyday. Claire was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, She had deep bonds with her children, grandchildren and enjoyed spending over 93 summers with family at her cottage at Chapman Lake. Claires love of life is not overshadowed by her death. She had a warm personality and genuine interest in her friends and neighbors. Her smile could light up a room. Her blueberry pies were epic. She was a devout member of the Catholic Church in Peckville.

A Blessing Service will be conducted Wednesday at 11 AM in the Michael P. Glinsky Funeral Home Inc. 129 Grant Street Olyphant, Pa, friends may call from 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday evening. Interment, Prospect Hill Cemetery Peckville, Pennsylvania.
