Obituary

Gail Patricia Garrity, 87, of Londonderry, NH, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH.

She was born on September 29, 1937, in Winthrop, MA, and was raised in Winchester, MA, by her parents, William and Celia Forrey Perkins. Gail lived in Reading, MA, for 30 years before retiring to Cape Cod with her beloved husband of 55 years, the late Donald Garrity, who predeceased her in 2012. She had lived in Londonderry, NH, for the past seven years.

Gail had a deep love for the beach and enjoyed playing tennis. She will be remembered as a kind, giving, and compassionate person, always ready to care for others. Above all, she cherished her role as a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. Her greatest joy came from caring for and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Trudy Garrity of Londonderry, and her partner Doug; her son, Donald Garrity, Jr. of Reading, MA, and his wife Karen; ten grandchildren: Donnie Garrity III and his wife Jess, Danielle Lloyd and her husband Chris, Kim Matthews and her husband Steve, Melissa Guilmette and her husband Bill, Matt Quale and his wife Hannah, Randi Newton and her husband Dan, Kelly Garrity, Katie Dickey and her husband Bill, Victoria Quale and her partner Nick, and Cam Quale and his wife Sabrina. She is also survived by 23 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

In addition to her husband, Gail was predeceased by her brother William Perkins and her sister Kathleen Palumbo.

There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on July 24, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s Parish, One South Road, Londonderry, by the family. She will be laid to rest with her husband Donald in Mosswood Cemetery, Cotuit, MA, at a later date.
