Obituary

Elizabeth Ann (Gatto) Roble, 79, of Palm Harbor, Florida, passed away peacefully early Monday morning on June 23rd , 2025 at Accent Care Hospice in Florida.

Born in Lynn, Massachusetts, she is the daughter of the late Carmen and Mildred (Rabinovitz) Gatto. Elizabeth “Betty” attended Dean Junior College and Salem State, where she excelled in Mathematics. She worked as the Executive Administrative Assistant for the Office of the Inspector General in Boston for over 35 years.

Elizabeth received awards for her superior managerial skills, a commendation for superior accomplishment during Operation Safe Home, and was named Employee of the Year. She volunteered as a tutor in Math and Physics, loved her dogs, books, dancing, bingo, concerts on the beach, and attending church. Family was her utmost focus. She was comically opinionated, making people laugh without trying. She was a force to be reckoned with but would give the shirt off her back for anyone in need.

She is survived by her partner, Andrew Roble, daughter, Christine DeBaker, Beverly, Massachusetts; three sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Terry DeBaker, Tarpon Springs, Florida; Paul and Sue DeBaker, Parsonsfield, Maine; Michael and Kathy DeBaker, Limington, Maine; and seven grandchildren, Colleen Mooney, Ashleigh and Jason Jr. Cledes, Amanda, Michael, and Ethan DeBaker, and Emily Dubois; sister, Camille Gatto and wife Barbara Albers, Swampscott, Massachusettes; sister-in-law, Ann Gatto, Gainesville, Ga; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother, Vincent Gatto.

Visitation will be held at A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden, MA on Saturday July 12th from 8:30am-9:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, MA at 10:00 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
