Mary Ann Brown affectionately called Mary, Sible or Charlotte passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 7,2025 at St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Dorchester, MA. She was born on May 16, 1962, in St. D’Acre, St. Ann, Jamaica West Indies. She was the beloved daughter of Zetilda Palmer and Levi Brown.
Mary grew up in St. D’Acre, St. Ann. She worked as a vendor at the Aabutnott Galimore High School in Alexandria, St. Ann. In August 2001, she migrated to the United States and settled in Hackensack, NJ. She relocated to Boston, Massachusetts with her children in February 2016. During her time living in the United States, she worked in the Healthcare industry.
Mary was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She touched the lives of many with her kind, caring, compassionate, and outgoing nature. She was a free spirit, and her energy could light up any room. She was the life of the party; her family remembers her as someone who was always dancing and singing. She had an uncanny ability to listen and approached people without judgment. Her family and friends describe her as a person, who would give anyone the shirt off her back. Mary left an unforgettable impact on everyone who had the honor of knowing her. She lived life with integrity, humility, resilience, humor, and love. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Zetilda and Levi; 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
She is survived by her spouse, Enos Millen. Two daughters, Sherene Blake (and her husband Claude); Erica Wilson (and her husband Elsisco); one son, Sherlock Millen (and his partner, Shanice Smith). 10 cherished grandchildren: Claude Blake, Jr, Nyaisha Blake, Brandon Blake, Marlon Millen, Jaden Millen, Maleah Johnson, Amiah Wilson, Kamiah Wilson, Sherlon Millen, and Eljay Wilson.
Mary is also survived and remembered fondly by her sister, Lucille; 7 brothers; numerous nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Church of God of Prophecy in Dorchester, MA, with Bishop Colin Powell. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery (Boston, MA). A reception will follow at the Revent Space (Boston, MA).
She is gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
