Mark Paul Galonzka, 44, of Boston, MA passed away on May 25th, 2025, unexpectedly from a cardiac episode.

Mark was born on June 21, 1980, to Antin (Tony) and Julianne Galonzka in Norwood, MA. He began high school at Don Bosco and later graduated from Walpole High School in 1999, where he was a proud member of the State Championship earning Walpole High football team. He went on to study Criminal Justice and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Salve Regina University in Newport, RI.

Mark’s keen attention to detail and a strong work ethic, guided him throughout his life. He played a pivotal role in designing and building a unique hair studio, an early step in a journey that reflected his eye for aesthetics and craftsmanship. Knowing success would come, Mark followed his vision and founded “Zonka’s Painting Company”, staying true to his personal motto: “Details matter.” His reputation for excellence and precision became well known throughout the community.

Mark was also part of the local laborers and fire proofing union.


In recent years, Mark devoted much of his time helping others on their journey to recovery from addiction, a cause near and dear to his heart.

Mark was predeceased by his grandmothers Yaroslava Galonzka and Ann Ercha, Grandfathers Joseph Ercha, Dymtro Galonzka, Uncles Joseph Ercha and Paul Valliquette. He is survived by his father and mother Antin, and Julianne of Walpole, MA, his brother Andrew and sister -in- law Heather of Holden, MA, his sister Christina Caputo and brother- in- law Joseph Caputo of Oxford, MA. His ten nieces and nephews Jayleena 14, Joseph 13, Miana 12, Roselia 10, Aria 9, Haley, 9 Mila, 7, Jonathan 7, Clara 5, Brooke 4.

Funeral Services at Christ the King Ukrainian Catholic Church 146 Forest Hills St. Jamaica Plain on June 2, 2025. Visiting with his family at the church from 9 am until 11 am. Funeral Liturgy will begin at 11 am. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to those suffering from addiction, at the Hope House in Boston MA 8 Farnham Street Boston, MA 02119 – Hopehouseboston.org
