It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Arlene Kohnmann. After bravely battling major health issues for two and a half years, the Lord decided her time on Earth was complete. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on May, 22, 2025 at the age of 86.
Arlene was born in Los Angeles, CA July 16, 1938. She had one older sister, Marilyn. She worked for Standard Oil in Los Angeles in her late teens. In 7th grade, Arlene met her future husband, Richard. They were married August 16, 1958. Theirs was a loving union that lasted 66 years. Two sons, Kenny (Bernadette) and Danny were born shortly after. In addition to her son's and daughter-in-law, Arlene is also survived by her husband Richard, five grandchildren, Heidi, Jeremy, Megan (Zach), Ben and Kevin. She is also survived by her three great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Abigail and Lucas. Arlene will also be missed by her surviving sister-in-law, Dorothy, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Family was Arlene's number one priority and she loved us all so much.
Arlene loved to cook and entertain. She was always feeding her family the most delicious meals. For about 55 years, she and Richard hosted Easter and Thanksgiving in their home. Anywhere from 50 to 80 people would attend. Arlene considered all in attendance to be her family as well. Good times were had by all and many, many wonderful memories were made.
Even though we will miss you so much, we are all glad you are whole again and with family in Heaven. This is not a good-bye, but a see you later, as we will see you again someday. We would also like to take this time to thank her extraordinary caregiver, Mauricio. We can't say enough wonderful things about you and couldn't have done any of this without you. Thank you also to Assist Hospice. You were all very caring and so helpful with our beautiful Arlene.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to a local animal shelter or consider adopting a pet. Arlene loved animals and had many throughout her lifetime.
There will be no services. A Celebration of Life will be determined at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, Ventura.
