Obituary

Jerry Johnson was born on July 30, 1950 to the late MaeBelle Johnson and Maurice Wildy, Sr of Saint Helena Island, South Carolina. Jerry spent some of his high school days in SC before moving to Boston, MA with his mother during his teenage years.

When Jerry entered the workforce in Boston, he worked for Boston Naval Shipyard for a few years before finding a career at Raytheon as an electric systems coiler. Jerry retired in August of 2012 after 42 years and enjoyed spending time with his family and watching western TV shows like The Rifleman, Gunsmoke and Wagon Train. Big J, as most called him, is survived by his wife Doretha, his daughter April (T.J.) Brower and his son Kareem. He leaves everlasting love & memories for his brother Charles (Shirley) and his only grandson Anthony. He also leaves devoted love for his aunt Helen (David) Brown-Capers, nephews, a host of cousins, friends and co-workers who loved him dearly.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a graveside service at New Calvary Cemetery, 800 Harvard Street, Boston, on Thursday May 22nd at 11 AM.

He will be greatly missed and loved by many.
