Ronald F. Golini, age 83, of Medford, passed away on May 6, 2024. He was the beloved husband of the late Edna I. (Marquebreuck) Golini.
Born in Stoneham, MA, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Clara (Colasanti) Golini. Ron was raised and educated in Malden and was a graduate of Malden High School and Bentley College. Much of his career was spent as an Internal Auditor with EG& G, a national defense contractor. His career took him all over the world where he made many lifelong friends due to his charismatic personality. After college he maintained a private accounting practice for over 40 years. He will be fondly remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic and kindness towards others. His children will remember him as their hero, someone whose love and guidance will endure for generations to come. Ron was an avid sports fan and could be found watching his sons play hockey and in later years at his grandchildren’s sporting events. He was passionate about Boston sports, particularly the Patriots and Bruins. The family spent summers at their lake house on Arlington Pond in Salem, NH where he loved spending time in the sun and on his boat. His 4th of July fireworks display is legendary on the lake. In retirement, he enjoyed traveling the world with Edna, returning once a year to Aruba. Ron was the beloved father of Ron J. Golini and his wife Laura of Medford, Lisa A. Hughes of Burlington, David J. Golini of Salem, NH, and Christopher J. Golini and his wife Kirsten of North Andover. He was the dear brother of Diane Golini of Stoneham, brother-in-law of Mary “May” Marquebreuck of Medford, and the devoted grandfather “papa” to Diana Berg and her husband Ben, Elena Golini, Nicholas Golini, Julia Hughes, Daniel Hughes, Daria Hughes, Trent Golini, Ainsley Golini and the great-grandfather to Lilly Berg. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather at Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester, on Tuesday, May 14 from 4-8 PM, and again on Wednesday, May 15 at 9AM, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 10AM. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. If desired, memorials in Ron’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association on their website at https://www.alz.org. The family would like to thank the staff at both Silverthorne Adult Day Health Center, Salem NH and Belmont Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their incredible support, love, caring and kindness of Ron during his journey. |
